Past Events

BUTCH & FEMME FASHION SHOW
This is not your average fashion show! Showcasing 100 years of lesbian fashions, mixed with singers from the community, and sketches from our group. Celebrating the community as part of BOLDFEST 2011.

This show was a hit! It was a lot of fun to do. Thank you to all those brave souls from the community who volunteered their talents and time to make this show a success!

HOW THE WEST WAS ONE
We wrote another sharp shootin' success of a comedy! This one-act had many belly laughs. We won awards, including Best Ensemble, Best Set and Best Sound. This play turned into a semi-musical with our own musical scores and a highly developed sound team. All that, and we now have a brand new saloon bar for our rehearsal space. Yee-haw!

BRIDES OF THE MOON
This original comedy by the Five Lesbian Brothers was a blast! Many thanks to them for helping us get this show on its feet. By performing this play, The Leaping Thespians won Best Ensemble and best Supporting Actress in the Vancouver Zone Theatre Festival 2010.

ONCE UPON A LESBIAN
Our original comedy was a sold out success! This was a special play as it was collaborately written, and some of us acted and directed for the first time.

STREET TALK
Congratulations to fellow member Nancy Painter who had her one-act play, Street Talk, chosen to be part of Actoberfest, Theatre BC's One-Act Fringe Festival, held in Prince George in October, 2008.

8x10 GLOSSY
We performed 8x10 Glossy, a play by Sarah Dreyer, in Nanaimo in July 2008 for Mainstage, Theatre BC's Provincial Festival. 8x10 Glossy won Best Production, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Lighting in the Greater Vancouver Zone Festival in May 2008.

WOMEN4WOMEN
Our original play, Women4Women, won Best Production in the Greater Vancouver Zone Festival in May 2007 and won Best Original Script in Theatre BC's Mainstage Festival in Kamloops in July 2007.
